Michelle Obama, Gardening and Health

I didn't vote for Obama, nor did I vote for McCain, but I can recognize when someone offers something of Value and this has VALUE.  I THANK Michelle Obama for her passion for making Health, PERSONAL.. Taking responsibility.  Not just doing whatever we want and then expecting pharmaceuticals to take care of our myriad problems that come up from our own laziness and poor choices.

Gardening is SO important.. and supporting those who are our LOCAL growers by buying their food, rather than picking things up that have traveled from other COUNTRIES, for Pete's sake!!  We live in AMERICA!!  How is it that we need to buy ANY food from ANY other country??!  And we ought to eat our food CLEAN!  Why do we feed our kids genetically modified foods and stuff that's been sprayed with toxic pesticides and all kinds of fake growth chemicals?!  Are we nuts or what?

Even when I shop at Whole Foods Market, I still check the stickers of my food and do my best to buy that which was grown in my home state, ..and then I always support my local Farmer's Market and buy the awesome fresh produce, there.

If you can't afford organic, I suggest, number one, that you change your priorities.  You family's health should come first.  And if it still feels like too much, then PLEASE, learn how to garden and get as much as you can out of your own backyard.  This is also so beneficial for your children.. for our FUTURE!  To have the knowledge of knowing how to be self-sufficient and survive off of the land is beyond any number of worth.  It's priceless.  More important that technical school education, I believe.

I know nothing of how to garden, and it's crippled me.  My parents came from a generation that was thrilled at the idea of being able to go to the store and get all they "need" in processed foods, stuffed in boxes and cans.  Their generation lost out on the importance of staying close to the LAND.  STAYING CLOSE TO THE EARTH.

We are grateful that they did the best they knew, but it's our responsibility to do BETTER.  It's vital.  Necessary.  NOW is the time.

So get over your political prejudices and just enjoy the value of what Michelle shares in this video.

Thank you.
